Founder, HTC Vive Arts, Paris
If you are given a VR headset to don in a museum or gallery, chances are it will be an HTC Vive. Since the launch of Vive Arts at HTC in 2017, spearheaded by Victoria Chang, the Taiwanese electronics company’s products have become the go-to for art institutions across the globe. The broader mission of Vive Arts is two-fold; it works with museums to preserve cultural heritage, and it provides support for artists to realise projects with immersive technologies such as VR and AR. As director, Chang has overseen more than 20 partnerships with museums including Tate Modern and the Royal Academy of Arts in London, the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and the National Palace Museum in Taipei; prior to this, she worked as a project manager for Global Cultural Asset Management, advising governments and individuals on large-scale museum projects.
