V&A reveals first image of new photography centre | The Victoria and Albert Museum has released the first visual of its new photography centre, designed by David Kohn Architects. The museum has also announced its first major donor – The Bern Schwartz Family Foundation. The render shows one of the largest galleries in the new suite of rooms dedicated to photography, which will open in autumn 2018.
Art Basel sues sportswear giant Adidas | Art Basel and its parent company MCH are taking sportswear manufacturer Adidas to court over the unauthorised use of the art fair’s name and logo on a pair of limited edition trainers. The lawsuit was filed in Florida and is the first such complaint Art Basel has lodged in the US.
Louise Bernard to direct Obama Presidential Center Museum | Louise Bernard, currently the director of exhibitions at the New York Public Library, has been appointed director of the Museum of the Obama Presidential Center, which is set to open in Jackson Park on the South Side of Chicago in 2021.
Lisson Gallery to close Milan space | The Lisson Gallery is to close its Milan outpost after six years, reports ArtNet News. The gallery, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, says that as the lease of the Milan space comes up for renewal, it will focus instead on its galleries in London and New York.
