Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2026

By Apollo, 8 May 2026

Earlier this year, when Apollo covered the shortlist for this year’s Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, we singled out a handful of extraordinary works. These included Adelene Koh’s Endless – which used book-binding techniques to create an elegant object that resembles a book turned inside-out and transformed into a perfectly circular artwork – and a tapestry designed by Álvaro Catalán de Ocón and made from elephant grass by the Ghanaian collective Baba Tree Master Weavers. All 30 nominated works will be on display at the National Gallery of Singapore for little more than a month (13 May–14 June). The diversity of forms and materials on display is impressive and many of them seem to explore and challenge the notion of balance in unexpected ways. The prize of €50,000, plus €5,000 each for special mentions, will be awarded by a jury of 14 that includes Sheila Loewe, Loewe creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the artist Magdalene Odundo and the designer Patricia Urquiola. The winner will be announced on 12 May.
