Independent curator and critic, Jerusalem
Lara Khaldi lectures in media studies at Al-Quds Bard college, Jerusalem; she previously taught art history and theory at Palestine’s Birzeit University. A former assistant programmes director at the Sharjah Art Foundation and director of the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre in Ramallah, she went on to complete the curatorial programme at de Appel, Amsterdam in 2014. Her recent projects include ‘Shifting Ground’, an offsite project for Sharjah Biennial in Ramallah in 2017 that looked at the meaning of ‘earth’ for stateless Palestinians; also a solo exhibition by Noor Abuarafeh at the Al Ma’mal Art Foundation, Jerusalem, and ‘Unweaving Narratives’ at the Palestinian Museum, Birzeit in 2018.
