Katia Nounou

Director, Head of Office, Sotheby’s UAE, Dubai

Katia Nounou, who grew up in London and moved to the UAE in 2015, has been head of Sotheby’s office in Dubai since it opened in 2017. She joined Sotheby’s in 2008 as a member of its Private Client Group, helping to attract Middle Eastern clients to the auction house and fostering relationships with a new generation of collectors across the globe. As well as client liaison, her responsibilities in Dubai include organising lectures and exhibitions to promote sale highlights; with her Iranian and Iraqi background, knowledge of the market, and extensive network in the region, she has been a key player in the growing popularity of contemporary Arab and Iranian art at auction.
