Collector and entrepreneur, London
The entrepreneur and investor John Dodelande sees his collection of contemporary Chinese art as a modern-day homage to the ancient Silk Road; he has co-authored a book on his acquisitions, Chinese Art: The Impossible Collection, that came out earlier this year. In recent months, Dodelande has become an advocate for the preservation and study of cultural heritage across the globe, with particular focus on the Silk Road, through the use of 3D-imaging technology that allows faithful digital copies to be produced of artworks – a project that, like his other efforts, aims to improve public access to global cultural heritage.
