While museums around the world are shuttered due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo’s usual weekly pick of exhibition openings will be replaced by a selection of digital initiatives providing virtual access to art and culture.
Located in the offices of two renowned 16th-century printers, Christophe Plantin and Jan Moretus, the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp houses, along with the two oldest surviving printing presses in the world, a vast collection of prints, including some 14,000 woodcuts. These are all freely available to download in high resolution thanks to the museum’s Impressed by Plantin initiative – which now also includes a Design Your Own Stationery tool (in Dutch), so you can search through the collection and lend your writing paper a Northern Renaissance touch. Find out more from the Museum Plantin-Moretus’ website.
