Coming from a family of collectors, Chantal Blatzheim bought her first work, a collage by Jesús Palomino, while working at the Helga de Alvear Gallery in Madrid. Now running Chantal Blatzheim Cultural Consulting, which offers professional fundraising and VIP relations, she works with and travels to many international art fairs. In her collecting she feels unrestricted by medium or style, owning a great variety of works from the 1960s to the present day, including pieces by Gerhard Richter, David Shrigley and Phyllida Barlow. If she has a leaning, she says, it is towards women artists, whose works she often finds the most interesting. Blatzheim is on the board of the Kunsthalle Zürich, is a patron of a dozen institutions worldwide, and has just started work as a fundraiser for the Fondation Beyeler.
