This week’s competition prize is Ravilious, by James Russell (I. B. Tauris, £25). Click here for a chance to win
Published to accompany the upcoming exhibition ‘Ravilious’ at Dulwich Picture Gallery, this book is the first full-length critical study to focus on the watercolours of multi-talented British artist and designer Eric Ravilious (1903–42). Ravilious is widely considered one of the key figures in mid 20th-century British design but he was also one of the finest watercolourists of the century. An introductory essay offers an intimate portrait of Ravilious, an artist for whom personal relationships, particularly with women, were paramount. A comprehensive selection of Ravilious’s watercolours follows, with over 100 colour images – some of which have never been published, while others are familiar and well loved.
For your chance to win simply answer the following question and submit your details here before midday on 2 April 2015.
For which manufactory did Eric Ravilious design his Alphabet mug in 1937?
This competition closes at midday on Thursday 2 April 2015.
