Co-founder and director of partnerships, Smartify, London

Smartify, co-founded by Anna Lowe in 2015, is the world’s most downloaded museum app. Billed as the ‘Shazam for art’, it allows visitors to scan museum objects and access information about them, from text to audiovisual content. Inspired by Spotify and Netflix, the app also offers personalised recommendations and museum tours. Last year, in response to the pandemic, it launched a new online platform, which allows you to explore museum collections from the comfort of your own home. Among the app’s institutional partners are the Louvre in Paris, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., and the National Gallery in London. It has won numerous awards, including three Webby Awards, an AAM Muse Award and the Apollo Award for Digital Innovation of the year.
