Riyadh and London
Abdullah Al Turki was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and now splits his time between London and his home town, where he works as a partner in his family business. He is a founding member of the Saudi Art Council, a non-governmental body dedicated to preserving art and visual culture in the country, and its 21,39 Jeddah Arts initiative. He served as the creative director for the Edge of Arabia and has been a member of Tate’s Middle East and North Africa Acquisition Committee and the Serpentine’s Future Contemporaries. Currently, he sits on the Board of Trustees of Ballroom Marfa and is a member of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s Middle Eastern Circle. His own collection of contemporary art has a strong focus on photography.
