The Dulwich Picture Gallery has replaced one of the paintings in its permanent collection with a replica produced in a copyists’ workshop in China. Visitors are invited to guess which one. Masterminded by contemporary artist Doug Fishbone, the project raises questions about the role of replication in art history and today’s culture, as well as encouraging people to take a closer look at the works on the gallery walls.
