Sara Raza is based at the Guggenheim, New York, where she works on the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative – for which she curated ‘But a Storm is Blowing from Paradise’ this year. She has a strong track record of working with artists based in central Asia and the Middle East, having organised exhibitions and projects at the Venice Biennale and the Tashkent Biennial, and was previously head of education at Yarat Contemporary Art Space, Baku, and curator of public programmes at Tate Modern. Raza is West and Central Asia editor of ArtAsiaPacific and the author of Punk Orientalism: Central Asia’s Contemporary Art Revolution, due to be published in 2018.
