A champion of the Brussels contemporary art scene, Devrim Bayar is a curator at WIELS, Contemporary Art Centre where she has organised exhibitions of Daan van Golden and Thomas Bayrle, as well as group shows such as ʻSomething Stronger Than Me*ʼ, which examined recent developments in collaborative art practices. She founded the online platform Le Salon in 2011 and in 2016 she co-curated the Indiscipline festival at the Palais de Tokyo, shining a light on the arts scene in Brussels. In September she will open a major survey exhibition of Dutch artist René Daniëls which will travel to MAMCO in Geneva. Other future projects at WIELS include solo shows of Benoit Platéus, Wolfgang Tillmans and R.H. Quaytman.
