Sydney, Australia
Art and fashion have a long history of drawing inspiration from each other. That tradition continues today with figures such as Bianca Spender, a young designer who spent her formative years working at her mother’s fashion house, Carla Zampatti, before launching her own successful eponymous line of womenswear in 2009. Spender is a leading figure in the Young Ambassador programme at the MCA Sydney, working to engage more young people with contemporary art in Australia. ‘I approach art as a way of developing ideas,’ she says.
